How To Try On A Speed Skate Boot

This is how to try on a speed skate boot.

I've seen more then enough times someone get a speed boot-skate and say it's to small because they can't get their foot into it.

Then after going through the below info, realize it was the perfect size.

That's not to say you can't have a boot that's to small for you.

But, you don't want to try the boot on the wrong way, then get the next size up, then it's to big because it was not tried on properly.

So, take the laces out of the top 3 or 4 eyelets of the boot.

Loosen the remaing laces right down to the toe.

Loose, loose to the toe.

If I don't do this in my current, perfectly fitting boot, I can't get my foot into my boot.

Once your foot is in, just taught the laces over the toes (not tight).

Then taught the laces over the arch (not tight).

Then re-lace the laces you initially pulled out of the eyelets on the top and tighten the top good and tight to pull the heel back into the heel pocket.

Then put the strap into the buckle and tighten it a bit to pull the heel back into the heel pocket a bit more.

If you don't take the laces out of the top eyelets initially, you won't be able to get your foot into the boot.

Don't take the laces completely out of the boot.

If you do this you may get your foot in, but, you will not be able to pull your heel back into the heel pocket.

The foot will sit forward in the boot and the toes will feel tight.

This will make you think the boot is to small, but, if the laces were in and tightened, this would pull the heel back into the heel pocket, and toes out of the front of the boot for a perfect fit.

So, before you consider a size exchange for the next size up, make sure to try the boot on like the above to make sure the boot you have doesn't already fit you.
