The Luigino Challenge is a low-cut inline speed skate boot with a carbon composite shell. Put it on the frame you already have, or build a skate around it.
Challenge boot features
Carbon composite shell: Light and stiff, so more of each push goes into the wheels.
Low cut: A low-profile boot, with a strap at the toe and one at the ankle for support and control.
AquaTech: Heat softens the shell so it molds to the shape of your foot. You can mold it again any time.
Barefoot Technology (BFT): The boot is shaped like a bare foot, so your foot sits in its natural shape.
ProBack: Molded latex foam at the heel and tendon holds your heel in place, and it keeps its shape for the life of the boot.
Padded ankle: Foam padding around the ankle for comfort.
Microfiber lining: A soft lining inside the boot that is easy on your foot.
Nano buckle and waxed laces: They lock your heel in each time you lace up.
Thermafiber: Luigino's composite in the shell, which makes it lighter and stiffer.
Mounting slots: Slots in the sole let you move the frame forward or back, and slots in the frame let you move it side to side.
High-density sole padding: Firm padding under your foot for comfort on long skates.

What we found when we skated it
We skated the Challenge next to the Strut. The Challenge is cut a little lower, so it gives a bit less ankle support and lets your ankle bend more. If you like more ankle movement, the Challenge is the one. If you want more support, pick the Strut. We wear a size 9.5 to 10 men's running shoe, and the Challenge M10/W11 fit us well. Sizing
Each adult size has a men's and a women's number. M10/W11 is a men's 10 and a women's 11. Men order by the M number and women by the W number. A man who wears a size 10 street shoe orders M10/W11. A woman who wears a size 10 orders M9/W10.
Sizes 6 and 7 fit women true to size. Men order 1 size up, so a man who wears a size 6 street shoe orders a 7.
Every Challenge boot, sizes 6 to 15, has a 195mm mount. Our Challenge skate lets you pick a Striker Mark II frame with the boot.
Can it be heat molded?
Yes. The Challenge has Luigino's AquaTech material. Heat softens the shell so it molds to your foot, and you can mold it again any time.
How does the Challenge fit?

What comes with it?

How is the Challenge different from the Bolt?
The Challenge has all of Luigino's newest boot features except the Pro-E sole. That includes AquaTech heat molding, BFT, ProBack, Nano buckles and mounting slots.
